Bulgaria's first alpine hut - Skakavitsa

Skakavitsa Hut is named after the area where it is located in the steep peak of Kabul in Skakavitsa Valley. It is the first in Bulgaria alpine hut. It was built back in 1922, but burned in 1951. Several years later, the same place was built the current lodge. The building is a solid three-storey building with a capacity of 100 people. Seats are distributed on two floors in rooms with two to five beds, and bathrooms are shared. The hut has electricity, water and well heated by stoves. On the first floor there is a hall for group events, and the ground floor is a restaurant, shop for food and souvenirs, you will find ski. Near the chalet has a ski slope and a playground. Just an hour and a half from hut Skakavitsa are glacial lakes. They are nestled in the foothills of the Rila Mountains, a group of seven lakes of glacial origin. Located 2,500 meters above sea level in the northwestern part of the mountain. The choice of the names of the lakes is not random, each of the lakes is associated with your name on a particular feature. Lake named "Teardrop" is known for its crystal clear waters that allow visibility in depth, it is situated at the highest. "Eye" is the deepest lake in visiting Bulgaria. Lake "Kidney" has the steep banks, and "Twins" is the largest lake in area of the group. Lake "Trefoil" is irregular in shape, "Fish Lake" is the most shallow and "Lower Lake" is situated at the lowest as it flow the waters flowing from the other lakes.
