Musala peak

At 2925 meters above sea level, about 16.8 km from Madjare, rises the highest peak in Bulgaria and the Balkans - Rila champion - Musala peak. Snow here lasts approximately eight months, the average winter temperatures are around -10 degrees, and in summer about 5 degrees. Musala is among the favorite tourist sites of mountaineers from Bulgaria, neighboring Balkan countries and around the world. Included in the 100 Tourist Sites of the SIP. Average godishnno climb to the top about 50 000 people. Rocks, which is built with granite top are Palaeozoic age cut by granitporfirni housing. The soil cover is a mountain meadow, it grows mostly on alpine vegetation, and on the southern slopes of Musala meet and mountain pastures.
